Key Highlights:
- Controlled change management - Ensures preauthorization of any change in existing publications or creation of new publications, routing of the change request to appropriate authoring, reviewing, and approving groups. This functionality enforces data integrity, and compliance with general and specific industry regulations.
- Guided authoring management - Facilitates author-friendly document creation and revision in a complex structured authoring environment. Since most of the publications managed by DocManager are SGML/XML, guided authoring alleviates traditional challenges faced in creating structured content.
- Assisted OEM revision management - Imports OEM revisions to the repository via a streamlined automated process that also includes data cleanup and automatic assessment of OEM changes and their conflict profiles when contrasted against customer originated changes (COC’s). This feature saves a great deal of labor and frustration for the publication organizations that handle OEM data, and promotes accuracy in conflict resolution and OEM triggered change incorporation.
- Assisted release management - Manages periodic releases of publications facilitated by reports showing the progress of the change incorporation. Has a push-button automatic release that gathers all releasable fragments of a complex publication and releases them as a single unit publication, ready to go through a publishing run for distribution. This feature greatly reduces manual coordination and compilation of the released “collection”.
- Assisted referential integrity management - Facilitates creation of reference links between publications and maintenance of the referential integrity of the references throughout the life cycle of the source and target publications. This feature greatly reduces manual labor, potential for errors, and compliance failures by automatically notifying referential integrity breaches and/or automatically updating linked information.
- Management and trend reporting - Allows for pre-built and user created ad-hoc report generation detailing the progress of various change management activities, system jobs and processes. Compiles activities revealing trends across specific time segments. This feature facilitates the management and coordination of all publication activities reducing manual labor, miscommunication, and schedule runoffs.
